bday and bbq's =)

This summer is definitely gearing up to get better. Yesterday I took photos at a birthday event down in south Jersey, was good times, definitely a change of scene from where I live now. All photos here: http://picasaweb.google.ca/ypatel9/AmaraAndElloraPatelS1stBirthday

Then today, an impromptu bbq outside of my apartment building with fellow condo owners. Took some photos of the dogs and some of the good times to follow, a great bunch of people within the building.

funny weather...

The weather has been all over the place where I live recently, between muggy gross inbetween weather, to flash flood styled rain, all the way to super sunny +30C days. This all plays havoc with my body...but at the same time offers some interesting photo opportunities...

Captured this one after a storm came through, the clouds made the sky look like it had pimples.

Got up to the 2nd highest point of the roof and took pics in a full 360, converting it into polar coordinates.

Lastly, this is a crop of the above picture, slightly touched up to make the exposure a little better.

Respect the Park

Haha, this has got to be one of the most run down park's ive come past so far near my apartment in NJ. Although there was one random piece of welded art that I pass by whenever I head into Manhattan via Hoboken.

Kinda depressing seeing such a large space look like a wasteland, but I guess they're trying to improve it, but I think work has been put on pause because of this "recession" in the market around here. Maintenance of the park obviously has faultered as weeds and broken property is all over the place. Oh well, not like this is home to me anyways =).

This was done using a single wide angle photo of the NY skyline at night, I think it came out better than some of the earlier ones I tried out...

Birthday = Kids!

Today was a family friend's first birthday, and as promised, here are the goodies for the day. Had a lot of fun taking these, although one of my lenses decided to crap out on me, gotta love Canon warranty though. On with the photos!

Week In Review

I didn't get a chance to update this week, weather has kind've been throwing my body off balance. It has rained, been hot, cold, all within 24 hours...and I thought Calgary was bad. So whenever I get home I either have a headache or just feel exhausted and drained from the day, and I keep putting things off.
